T-Fund Set Up
CompletedThe ITE&C annual report for 2021-22 says the state set up T-Fund under its Innovation Policy, named T-Hub investment manager, allocated Rs. 15 crore in the 2021-22 budget, and that T-Hub awarded Rs. 1.5 crore to three startups. The report gives no launch date.
T-Hub Foundation Incorporated
CompletedRegistered as a company limited by guarantee (CIN U74900TG2015GAT099004) on 21 May 2015, per its MGT-7 filing for FY2024-25. No government order or agreement creating it was found.
CatalysT Building Inaugurated
CompletedRatan Tata and Governor ESL Narasimhan inaugurated the first phase, a 70,000 sq ft building on the IIIT-H campus in Gachibowli. The Indian Express reported that at least 140 startups were expected to start there.
Phase 2 Campus Opened
CompletedThe Innovation Policy 2016 promised a 3,00,000 sq ft Phase 2 within five years. On 28 June 2022 the Chief Minister inaugurated T-Hub 2.0 at Raidurg, with 5,82,689 sq ft built-up area (per Telangana Today) and space for over 2,000 startups.
Lab32 Cohort 10 Launched
CompletedT-Hub's seed-accelerator programme launched its tenth cohort on 10 March 2023 after over 800 applications. T-Hub said the programme had accelerated 249 startups that raised $403 million.
National Incubator Awards
CompletedThe ITE&C annual report for 2022-23 records a 'Best Incubator in India' award at the National Startup Awards 2022 and a National Technology Business Incubator Award from the Department of Science and Technology. Telangana Today reported the second on 14 May 2023.
Description & Context
Folded into the Innovation Policy 2016 brief, which carries its sourced claims. T-Hub Foundation is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated on 21 May 2015 (MGT-7, FY2024-25). The Innovation Policy 2016 calls T-Hub a public/private partnership between the Government of Telangana, IIIT-H, ISB, NALSAR and private sector leaders, and anchors the state's entrepreneurship effort to it. Phase 1 was the 70,000 sq ft CatalysT building on the IIIT-H campus, inaugurated on 5 November 2015. The policy promised a 3,00,000 sq ft Phase 2 within five years; a 5,82,689 sq ft campus opened on 28 June 2022. Every outcome figure here is T-Hub's own count, repeated by state reports. No independent evaluation was found, and T-Hub's counts differ from one page and date to the next.
